Aluminum alloy plastic deformation processing can be done by almost any
heating method, such as gas furnace, oil furnace (as long as the flame
is not in direct contact with the aluminum alloy billet), box type
resistance furnace, induction heating furnace, etc.
Induction heating of aluminum alloy billet has developed rapidly in
these years, mainly because induction heating can not only simulate the
effect of resistance furnace heating, but also has the advantages that
box type resistance furnace does not have, such as no need to warm up in
advance like box type resistance furnace, it can be heated when it is
turned on, non-contact heating is in line with the needs of aluminum
alloy billet heating, heating time and holding time are greatly
shortened, and heating defects such as coarse crystal of billet can be
avoided.
There are many refractory materials in the resistance furnace, which
absorb a lot of heat energy when the furnace is on, i.e. the device has
large heat loss, and it needs to maintain a certain temperature when it
is not working; in addition, induction heating has repeatability, i.e.
the power required for a given aluminum alloy billet specification,
starting forging temperature, beat, and induction heating is basically
constant, thus the precise heating temperature can be determined by
beat, with good process repeatability and stable product quality, the
benefits brought by this feature to aluminum alloy heating are

furnace can form a production line with forging equipment to achieve
synchronous production.
②Under the set power and beat conditions can effectively prevent the
billet temperature from under-temperature or over-heating and
over-burning.
③Using computer, temperature measuring device (non-contact infrared
thermometer) PID control device and semiconductor inverter to form a
temperature control system to achieve accurate temperature control and
automation.
④Easy to realize modern management system in forging factory.
It can be seen that induction heating for aluminum alloy heating is an
advanced and ideal method compared with resistance furnace.
