Aluminum 1100 is industrially pure aluminum with 99.00% aluminum content
(mass fraction) and is not heat treatable to strengthen. It has high
corrosion resistance, electrical and thermal conductivity, low density,
good plasticity, and can produce various aluminum materials through
pressure processing, but its strength is low. Other process properties
are basically the same as 1050A. 1100 is usually used for the
requirements of good forming and processing properties, high corrosion
resistance, does not require high strength missing, such as food and
chemical handling and storage equipment, sheet metal work products,
hollow small hardware processed by drawing goods spinning, welding
combination keys, reflectors, nameplates, etc.
1100 aluminum sheet and strip belongs to pure aluminum sheet series, its
strength is relatively low, with excellent ductility, formability,
weldability and corrosion resistance; anodic oxidation can further
improve corrosion resistance, while obtaining a beautiful surface; but
not heat treatment to strengthen.
For example, the last two Arabic numerals of 1100 series are 00.
According to the international naming principle, the aluminum content
must reach 99.00% or above before the product is qualified. China's
aluminum alloy technical standard (GB/T3880-2012) also clearly
stipulates that the aluminum content of 1100 reaches 99.0%.
Application Scope Editor
1100 aluminum sheet and strip is generally used in utensils, heat sinks,
bottle caps, printing plates, building materials, heat exchanger
components, and also used as deep-stamping products. It is used in a
wide range of applications from cookware to industrial equipment.
